How We Began!

WinC Wrap in Cotton began making sheets for examination beds at the request of a local orthopaedic surgeon who was finding it impossible to access good quality linen for his practice. As he was unable to find a supplier for his linen, his practice had begun using disposable linen. He found that whilst disposable linen is touted as the panacea for hygiene, it results in large amounts of waste disposal, the sheets are often ill fitting as the size of examination beds varies greatly as the days of ‘one size fits all’ are gone and the sheets are prone to slippage and are not very comfortable for patients.  We began with a run of 10 sheets for his examination beds and over a period of time we have supplied sheets for the entire clinic. They have chosen to colour code their linen with each doctor having a specific colour for his/her rooms. This gives a simple solution when storing the linen after laundering.  Since beginning to supply linen we have made sheets, pillow cases, and modesty drapes to clinics all over Australia and they are very happy with the end result.

What We Can Offer! 

Fabric linen, specifically 100% cotton sheets, pillow slips and drapes can be made to custom fit the examination bed regardless of the size. Our fabric of choice is 100% cotton to minimize static electricity build up.  We also have access to surgical/hotel grade polycotton sheeting, although the colour range with this can be limited. We are happy to make drapes of any size that you require and, these have the ability to be sterilized should you so desire. Should you, and your colleagues, choose to change from using disposable linen, we at WinC are happy to source fabric in a corporate colour/colours of your choice and supply custom made linen for your clinic. The change over from disposable linen to fabric can be done in stages to minimize the impact of cost to your business. We are also happy to consult with you as to the optimum number of sheets per examination bed to ensure that there is sufficient linen for each room without oversupply. If you have different specialties within your clinic we can colour match for each particular one, making the sorting of linen quick and easy. You are our customer and we aim to make your linen requirements as painless and seamless as possible.

Benefits! 

WinC linen is made to the highest standards. It is all manufactured in Queensland and is obviously not mass produced ensuring that the linen is actually square and not skewed as in mass produced linen. Our sheets are a fitted sheet with a pocket at the top and an elasticized pocket at the bottom. Some practices like a mid-strap that attaches together with Velcro as an extra insurance policy against slippage.  The first run of linen made by WinC is now three years old and still looks like new, so whilst the initial outlay will be more than disposable linen, your practice will have many years of service from fabric linen before it has to be replaced. This gives you a very cost effective alternative to disposable linen as well as minimizing waste and impact on the environment. We are happy to send you sheets in different sizes for you to try on your beds to ensure the fit is perfect. We pride ourselves in making your choice of linen as easy for you as possible.

We established pretty quickly that even though the products, which could be purchased from their online store were of a high quality, unfortunately the sizing would not fit our large adjustable examination couches.
